On Dec. 12, the president of the Delaware State Bar Association appointed Mary Akhimien to serve on the Delaware State Bar Association’s Committee on Judicial Appointments.
According to a press release, the Committee on Judicial Appointments is a 22-member committee that makes candidate recommendations to the Delaware Judicial Nominating Commission and/or provides comments to the JNC about candidates prior to the JNC making its recommendations to the governor. The JNC is composed of 11 members who are responsible for screening and recommending candidates to fill judicial vacancies on the Delaware bench.
Akhimien is an associate at Connolly Gallagher who represents clients in a variety of areas, including corporate litigation, commercial litigation, corporate counseling and business and employment law. She has defended clients before administrative tribunals and in state and federal courts, and has helped negotiate complex settlements.
