Linda L. Ammons ()
Widener University School of Law Dean Linda L. Ammons will retire from the university at the end of the current academic year, the school announced today.
Ammons has led the school’s Wilmington and Harrisburg, Pa., campuses since 2006. She will serve as a legal education adviser to Widener University President James T. Harris III during the 2014-15 academic year, according to the law school.
Currently, Erin Daly and Robyn L. Meadows are serving as co-deans of the university while Ammons has taken a sabbatical during the spring semester. Daly, who leads the Wilmington campus, and Meadows, who manages the Harrisburg campus, will continue with their current roles at least through next year.
“It has been a privilege to serve as dean, and to be a part of the history of Widener Law,” Ammons said in a release. “I am proud to have contributed to the training of legal professionals in Wilmington and Harrisburg.”
Harris issued a statement praising Ammons’ leadership.
“Dean Ammons has been a tireless advocate for Widener Law,” Harris said. “Her distinguished service has substantially increased the school’s visibility regionally, nationally and internationally. The school is stronger for her leadership and I am grateful she has agreed to continue her service as counsel for legal education.”
