Kara M. Swasey, a director at Bayard, was elected to the board of directors of Delaware Volunteer Legal Services.

Swasey, who has served as a volunteer attorney for the organization for a number of years, will now assume additional responsibilities for DVLS as a member of the board.

DVLS has served the community for over 30 years, providing legal services to indigent residents in Delaware, according to a prepared statement.

In addition to her work with DVLS, Swasey serves as a volunteer for the Domestic Violence Advocacy Program, the Federal Re-entry Legal Assistance Program and the Office of the Child Advocate.

She concentrates her practice at Bayard in family law matters.
