Plaintiff American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc., filed a patent infringement suit against defendants Neapco Holdings and Neapco Drivelines, alleging that Neapco's propeller shaft assemblies with liners for certain General Motors trucks infringed plaintiff's patents. Plaintiff's patents described and claimed methods for reducing noise and vibration by inserting tuned liners into the shaft assembly of a driveline system. The parties submitted briefs for the court to conduct claim construction of disputed terms in plaintiff's patents.
