Widener University School of Law added Bruce Grohsgal to its Institute of Delaware Corporate and Business Law faculty. He will focus on issues in business bankruptcy law.

Grohsgal, a former Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones attorney, joined the faculty as the Helen S. Balick Visiting Professor in Business Bankruptcy Law.

He will teach bankruptcy and secured transactions classes this fall.

The newly created position honors retired U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Helen S. Balick, who played a pivotal role in the national development of business bankruptcy proceedings, according to a release.

Balick initially served as the Delaware bankruptcy court’s lone judge.

Grohsgal was a partner with Pachulski Stang’s Wilmington office and practiced there since the founding of that office in early 2000, a release said.

Grohsgal will also work to strengthen Widener Law-Delaware’s presence in the Wilmington bankruptcy practice and coordinate symposia on the topic and pursue externship and other opportunities for students in the legal community, a release said.
