Richard D. Kirk, a director at Bayard P.A. and head of the firm’s intellectual property practice, moderated a panel at an event for The Sedona Conference (TSC).
He discussed summary judgment in patent cases in connection with an upcoming TSC publication on “Best Practices in Patent Litigation,” scheduled to be published late this year, according to a release.
The panel included U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn of the Northern District of Texas and U.S. District Judge Ronald Whyte of the Northern District of California and patent attorneys Eric Hutz of Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg and Henry Gutman of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
Kirk is part of the TSC Patent Litigation Best Practices Working Group, which is dedicated to developing industry standards for managing patent litigation cases following enactment of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act, a release said.
Kirk focuses on general business litigation, intellectual property litigation, administrative law and alternative dispute resolution.
