A fuller picture of the Biden White House came into focus Wednesday as the transition team announced a slate of new hires, a roster that includes alums from the major U.S. law firms Covington & Burling, Jenner & Block and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

The transition team said Kaitlyn Hobbs Demers, a former Covington associate, will serve as special assistant to the president and chief of staff for the office of legislative affairs. Demers has served as a senior associate counsel on the Biden-Harris transition, and she earlier was associate counsel to Biden during the Obama administration. Demers focused on congressional investigations at Covington, a firm Biden leaned on during the campaign.
