Cherylle Corpuz, chair of Reger Rizzo & Darnall’s immigration practice group, is set to present “Recognizing the Opportunities of Business Immigration” to the Delaware State Bar Association’s membership on June 7 in Wilmington.
Corpuz and her scheduled co-presenter Akanksha Kalra will provide an overview of the immigration system and laws, and will discuss the basis of the immigration system through the three departments involved: Homeland Security, State and Labor.
Corpuz and Kalra will discuss other major immigration themes including temporary visas and those temporary visas commonly used by business, including H-1B, the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program and the economic impact immigration has throughout the state of Delaware, as well as the opportunities legal immigration provides.
Corpuz focuses her practice on immigration and nationality law. She began her career at Nationalities Service Center, where she directed the nonprofit legal services department and served as vice president responsible for the overall operations of this refugee resettlement organization. Corpuz then established her own firm providing counseling in immigration matters and representation in all venues to individuals as well as organizations, including businesses, hospitals, social service agencies and criminal defense firms. For four years, Corpuz managed the immigration practice for a Philadelphia-based Am Law 100 firm, where she was responsible for visa and compliance work with multinational corporations, universities and high net worth individuals.
