The Delaware chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is set to host its annual meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the First Unitarian Church of Wilmington.
The meeting offers Delawareans a chance to catch up on the work the organization has done over the last 12 months, meet new board and staff members and network with fellow civil liberty defenders from across the state, according to the ACLU.
This year’s meeting will be centered around its newly launched Campaign for Smart Justice. This campaign has two main goals: reduce mass incarceration by half and challenge racial disparities in the criminal justice system.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
