John D. Demmy joined Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr as a partner in the bankruptcy and restructuring practice. He will be resident in the firm’s Wilmington office.
Demmy is a restructuring attorney who has been involved in many bankruptcy cases in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware over the past 30 years.
His diverse practice has included representations of all parties in interest in bankruptcy and related litigation proceedings including debtors, creditors’ and ad hoc committees, asset purchasers, insurers and various types of creditors. He has also appeared in major bankruptcies in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and other bankruptcy jurisdictions, including Texas, Louisiana, California, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Virginia and North Carolina. In addition, Demmy is a commercial litigator and has handled such matters in the Delaware Court of Chancery, the Delaware District Court and the Delaware Superior Court. He also regularly provides opinions with respect to matters of bankruptcy and Delaware law relating to Delaware entities.
