Georgia’s judicial watchdog agency filed formal charges Tuesday against Superior Court Judge Robert “Mack” Crawford of the Griffin Judicial Circuit involving more than $15,000 the judge allegedly “impermissibly” acquired from the Pike County Superior Court registry.

The charges by the state Judicial Qualifications Commission accuse Crawford of violating the state Code of Judicial Conduct requiring judges to comply with the law and refrain from lending the prestige of their office to advance their own private interests. The charges stem from four separate complaints filed against Crawford with the JQC.
