On Aug. 22, a dozen bar associations gathered for an annual Judicial Reception at the offices of King & Spalding LLP.

Public defenders attended the Georgia Public Defender Council’s second annual conference July 24-26 in Savannah. The program focused on several aspects of forensic science and litigation, as well as separate tracks devoted to the unique needs of effective juvenile defense and a leadership track for Circuit Public Defenders, Division Heads, and nominated Assistant Public Defenders. The conference was followed by Transition into Law Practice Program (TILPP); Trial Skills with a class of 64 new public defenders.
