On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Elberton native and longtime Atlanta attorney Peyton S. Hawes Jr. for his recent passing.
During his distinguished career that began with his admission to the State Bar of Georgia in 1964, Mr. Hawes served in the Georgia Attorney General’s Office early in his career. He entered private practice with the firm of Jones, Bird & Howell before co-founding the firm of Cofer, Beauchamp & Hawes in 1970.
