Much of the Atlanta area’s courthouses were closed Tuesday as residents cleaned up from Tropical Storm Irma and tens of thousands waited for electricity service to be restored.
The closures included: The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia; courts in Fulton County, DeKalb County, Clayton County, Cobb County and Henry County.
The courts in Gwinnett County were closed, but administrative offices were open.
The U.S. District Court’s website said Tuesay morning, “The Court will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.”
The Clayton court website said, “All Jurors should plan to report for duty on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, unless an official cancellation notice is issued from Clayton County.”
