Practice Profile: At Lewis Brisbois, Hummel is a member of the general liability and workers’ compensation practices. He also practiced in workers’ compensation at Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele. He has experience in litigation and has handled hundreds of claims for a variety of insurance companies, Fortune 500 companies, large corporations, small businesses and self-insurers.

Hummel also has spoken on panels about psychological injuries and how Georgia handles those cases.

Leadership Activity: Hummel is secretary of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. He also served as president of the Cobb County Bar Association’s Younger Lawyers Division until April, where he expanded the bar association’s involvement in high school mock trials and planned a mentorship program with Marietta schools.

Pro Bono and Civic Work: Hummel volunteers with the National Moot Court Competition in Georgia, where law students compete in a moot court arguing in front of a mock Supreme Court. He raised money for the Children’s Emergency Fund by helping organize the Sleigh Bells on the Square run. The Children’s Emergency Fund, created by the Cobb County Bar Association, raises money for Cobb residents’ immediate needs, such as food bills and heating. Hummel has also volunteered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s Legal Food Frenzy to raise money for children who would go hungry without school lunches.
