Chrysler has lost its bid to overturn a $40 million judgment in the South Georgia Circuit over an exploding Jeep gas tank that killed a 4-year-old boy.

The Georgia Court of Appeals Tuesday affirmed the award—which Judge Kevin Chason reduced from $150 million to $40 million—for the family of Remington Walden. The boy was engulfed in the flames that ignited when a rear-sitting gas tank ruptured in his aunt’s 1999 Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee.
