A 140-year-old Columbus law firm that is set to dissolve at the end of the year has settled claims that its malpractice cost a former client millions.

The plaintiff suing Hatcher, Stubbs, Land, Hollis & Rothschild was Edward Heard, a scion of the family behind Bill Heard Chevrolet, the Columbus-based company that was once the nation’s largest chain of Chevy dealerships until it collapsed into bankruptcy several years ago.
