Chief Justice Hugh Thompson of the Supreme Court of Georgia paid a recent visit to the new veterans court in Cobb County and later endorsed the program, according to a statement released Friday by Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee.

“Veterans courts are relatively new to Georgia and Cobb County is one of the first,” Thompson said, according to Lee’s statement. “I am proud of Judge Reuben Green for leading this effort. I look forward to … lending my support.” Thompson also spoke supportively of Green’s plans for the veterans court in last year’s state of the judiciary address to the Georgia General Assembly.
