The Georgia Supreme Court issued two decisions Monday in which the court unanimously reversed decisions by the state Court of Appeals, one a civil case about objections to jury instructions and the other about the reach of judges’ power to issue wiretap warrants.

In the civil case, the justices took a more relaxed approach than the lower appeals court in establishing what a lawyer must say in order to preserve his objection to a jury instruction. In the criminal case, the high court ruled for a group of defendants, saying superior court judges could issue wiretap warrants only if the law enforcement listening posts or tapped phones were located in their circuit.
