Attorneys with the Policing Project at New York University School of Law and law firms, Jones Day, Lawrence & Bundy, and Canfield Law, have filed an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit after their comedian clients’ civil rights lawsuit lawsuit against the Clayton County police in Georgia was dismissed.

A group of prominent Black voices in various groups, including in law enforcement, actors and directors, scholars and advocacy groups, have filed amicus briefs in support of Eric André and Clayton English—both comedians and actors—who allegedly suffered racial profiling at the hands of police when they claim they were illegally stopped while trying to board planes at different times at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
