Despite reports of Big Law reductions in legal staff, several Atlanta-founded law firms are using legal assistants and paralegals to fill gaps in their marketing and business development operations.

Law firms are turning more to legal assistants for marketing duties amid a greater demand in Big Law to hire more business development professionals and as digital marketing becomes increasingly important in clients finding and hiring law firms. Indeed, Citi recently reported that many firms have increased investment in business development amid a reduction in secretarial staff levels.
