Some Southeastern law firms’ top labor and employment lawyers are seeing increased demand for guidance about a rash of new laws and rulings that a new report says make up a “massive compliance burden” for employers.

The report from Am Law 100 firm Littler Mendelson states that employers are facing a compliance challenge created by rulings from federal agencies, Supreme Court opinions and more than 400 new state and local laws since September 2022, said Shannon Meade, executive director of the firm’s Workplace Policy Institute.
