After conducting an investigation and ethics hearing, the Judicial Qualifications Commission of Georgia has recommended the Supreme Court of Georgia remove suspended Habersham County Chief Magistrate Judge Gerald W. Johnson from office.
The recommendation comes 15 months after Johnson allegedly damaged property, repeatedly fired an assault rifle and later pointed the weapon at law enforcement following a domestic dispute with his wife in October 2021.
