"The Georgia Constitution affords the JQC jurisdiction over respondent’s pre-judicial conduct to the extent such conduct 'brings the judicial office into disrepute,'" the Judicial Qualifications Commission of Georgia Hearing Panel ruled. "JQC Rule 2(B)(1) likewise gives the JQC jurisdiction over respondent’s alleged conduct before he became a judge."

Judicial misconduct proceedings for suspended Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Christian Coomer are set to resume Dec. 21, now that Coomer’s attempt to dismiss the bulk of allegations in his ethics case has failed.
