Trial lawyer Natalie Woodward of Warshauer Woodward Atkins and former DeKalb County State Court Judge Dax Lopez of DelCampo Grayson Lopez teamed up on a three-week wrongful death medical malpractice trial that ended Tuesday with what appears to be a record-setting $77 million verdict.

It’s the biggest medical malpractice verdict in Georgia history, according to VerdictSearch and the Daily Report archives. The next largest was five years ago in Fulton County in favor of Keith Trabue for the estate of his wife, Shannon Trabue, who suffered traumatic brain injury after childbirth when she was 38 years old. Their lead counsel was veteran trial lawyer Bill Stone of the Stone Law Group.
