When Harvey Tisinger, an energetic 4-foot, 2-inch attorney, started his solo practice in Carrollton on Aug. 3, 1922, little did he know that it would grow to Tisinger Vance, a firm with 30 employees, including 16 lawyers.
Starting under the name Harvey Tisinger Attorney at Law, the office became Tisinger & Tisinger after Harvey’s brother, Robert “Bob” Tisinger, joined the firm in 1933. Harvey left a year later to become an assistant U. S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta, and the firm changed its name to Robert D. Tisinger Attorney at Law. It became Tisinger Vance after three lawyers joined the firm, starting in 1963.
