Abbott Laboratories, an Illinois-based health care company, and Mead Johnson were hit with a product liability lawsuit Thursday in Georgia Southern District Court in connection with its marketing of Similac formulas for premature infants. The suit, part of an onslaught of similar cases, was filed by Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein and other plaintiff firms on behalf of a mother who claims that cow’s milk in the formulas contributed to her baby sustaining serious gastrointestinal injuries. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 4:22-cv-00109, Melton v. Abbott Laboratories Inc. et al.
