A contract mowing and vegetation-management company hired by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has reached an $11 million settlement agreement with a woman and the estate of her late husband after it was found to have caused a fatal car crash in southeast Georgia.

The wreck occurred April 22, 2019, on Ga. 4, a four-lane highway in Charlton County, where Herman Jones and Beverly Henry-Jones, a couple from Hartford, Connecticut, were driving home from a trip to Disney World in Orlando with their two grandchildren, who had flown in with their parents from another state.
