Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Georgia, used Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s U.S. Supreme Court confirmation hearing in Washington, D.C., as an opportunity to mention a new bill he’s co-sponsored to right a wrong in the federal court system.

In his remarks during Wednesday’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which he is a member, Ossoff asked Jackson, a former public defender, about the Sixth Amendment, which includes a defendant’s right to counsel if one can’t afford his or her own.
