A debate over whether the reindictment of a former Georgia judge on computer hacking charges constituted double jeopardy made its way before the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Appellant attorneys argued charges added in the second indictment of former Gwinnett Superior Court Judge Kathryn Schrader should have been barred, noting the state’s attorneys knew about the alleged misdeeds but failed to indict the judge on her alleged crimes the first time around.
