It’s not just the rank and file who are burning out of Big Law. Law firm leader burnout is also at an all-time high, industry analysts say, and is likely to cause not only a wave of turnover at the top in the next year, but shorter reigns in general for the next generation of firm chairs.

That prediction is catalyzed by many of the same factors driving law firm performance during the pandemic, including unprecedented demand, an unrelenting search for talent to deliver on it, and ongoing uncertainty about if and when things will revert to “normal.”
