A trial is underway in Augusta for the family of a Georgia woman alleging she died from ovarian cancer because she used Johnson & Johnson powder.

“Margie Evans used Johnson’s Baby Powder twice a day for 56 years,” plaintiffs attorney John R. Bevis of the Barnes Law Group in Marietta told the jury during opening statements Monday, shown live and on video by Courtroom View Network. She began the ritual at age 12 — “the moment she got her first cycle,” Bevis said. “Her mother and grandmother told her a woman has to stay fresh, and Johnson’s Baby Powder is what would make her stay fresh.”
