Some of Atlanta’s biggest firms moved into the top tier of teams raising money for the state’s food banks Monday as the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy closed in on $365,000 of its $600,000 goal.

The event, which ends Friday night, is aimed to help the 1.7 million Georgians, including 562,000 children, who do not know how they will get their next meal. Food banks can turn each $1 donation into $8 of groceries.
