With the criminal case dropped, the attorney representing the lawmaker arrested for knocking on the governor’s door is considering whether to pursue civil litigation over the incident.
“Facts and evidence showed to the world that Rep. Cannon committed no crime and should not have ever been arrested,” said Gerald Griggs, the Decatur-based lawyer forCannon. “We thank the district attorney for her thorough review of the evidence and are weighing our next legal actions.”
