While many law firms are choosing to stay put in their current offices during the COVID-19 uncertainty, firms that signed new leases before the pandemic hit are moving into spaces that reflect a shift in how they work.

Law firms are using space and technology differently in offices signed under fresh leases, including building in less collaborative meeting space, but the pandemic has also accelerated the existing trend of shrinking office footprint, said real estate brokers and firm leaders.
