A $2 million settlement with a trucking company ended the case of an elderly man who struck a tractor-trailer rig partly blocking a road as it backed into a driveway in Newnan, Georgia, at about 9 p.m., and died several months later from his injuries.

Oliver Jordan was returning home from his customary evening meal at a Waffle House when he came upon the tractor-trailer, which was backing into a space the driver used to park his rig at his house on Temple Avenue, a five-lane section of highway west of Newnan.
