As COVID-19 cases spike in Georgia and the state says demand for the vaccine is far outstripping supplies, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers has asked Gov. Brian Kemp to place criminal defense lawyers on the list of “non-health care essential workers” prioritized to receive the vaccine.
A letter sent to Kemp on Thursday said guidance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency identified criminal defense lawyers as essential critical infrastructure workers, and as such should be included in the next phase of vaccines distributed by the state.
