A trio of Democratic lawmakers are requesting the Government Accountability Office review the judiciary’s efforts to address misconduct, including sexual harassment, the latest attempt to examine whether policies adopted by the federal courts in recent years are effective.

In a letter sent Tuesday to Gene Dodaro, head of the GAO, Democratic Reps. Hank Johnson, Jackie Speier and Norma Torres said despite reforms adopted by the judiciary, “concerns remain as to whether there are adequate safeguards in place to protect employees from and facilitate redress for workplace misconduct. As a result, we ask GAO to review the judicial branch’s current efforts to stop workplace sexual harassment and other forms of workplace discrimination and retaliation.”
