As COVID-19 cases resurge in Georgia and nationally, while courts around the country struggle to restart backlogged jury trials, budget-constrained Georgia courthouses’ need for masks has taken on new urgency.

Now that the state’s 159 superior courts are starting to schedule in-person jury trials, a joint fundraising effort from Georgia’s plaintiffs and defense bars to equip them with masks has kicked into high gear.
