Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough is set to acquire a nine-lawyer litigation and corporate boutique, Shanahan Law Group, that will substantially expand the size and practice of its Raleigh office.
The news is another sign that firms are finding opportunity in North Carolina, as part of the Southeast expansion of the Am Law 200. After a flurry of firm launches in Charlotte, there are continued signs of law firm interest in nearby Raleigh, although it’s been hard to break into the market in the past.
