Doc Schneider came to King & Spalding 40 years ago as a summer associate, and after graduating from Mercer Law School he was assigned to work with Griffin Bell, the former U.S. attorney general and U.S. circuit court judge. Their work on the 1985 EF Hutton investigation lay the foundation for the firm’s “Special Matters team,” and Schneider was a lead investigator on the investigation of the 1989 grounding of the Exxon Valdez in Alaska and in the Dow Corning breast implant investigation in 1992.

Beginning in 1994, Schneider turned his attention to the tobacco litigation, eventually trying two of the longest class actions in history. Over the last 10 years, Schneider has been involved in the defense of the asbestos litigation for Georgia-Pacific and Bestwall.
