The day after Gov. Brian Kemp dropped his mask lawsuit against Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, her lawyers helped the city of Athens negotiate a settlement of another mask complaint brought by bar owners.

The deal is, face coverings are required. Plus the bars are still closing early—but not quite as early as they would have under the previous pandemic-inspired ordinance. And the owners are getting a break on their licensing fees—not only for this year but for the next two, according to a settlement agreement signed Friday.
