Although travel is among his passions, DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Daniel Coursey Jr. has stayed pretty close to home for most of his life.

He’s served on the Superior Court bench for the past 36 years, making him the longest-serving judge in county history. His colleague, Judge Clarence Seeliger, is a close second. Coursey will retire Jan. 1, but the 77-year-old jurist said he will continue to hear cases as a senior judge.
