With nine full-time lawyers, Parks, Chesin & Walbert made its mark in employment litigation in 2017 with two matters against local governments.

In one, it represented a former deputy county manager in Fulton County and a former county professional standards officer who claimed they were were removed from their jobs in 2010 because they exposed extensive government waste and corruption. The plaintiffs had to win a ruling from the state Supreme Court to keep their claims alive, and in December it won a jury verdict of $250,000 for one of the plaintiffs, leading to a $325,000 settlement for the other plaintiff, with post-judgment claims for interest and attorney fees pending.
