Mitch Burnstein has been named managing director of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, succeeding Jamie Cole after 10 years.
Burnstein has been the managing director of the firm’s Broward office since 2011 and took over the new post overseeing operations and day-to-day management Jan. 1, the firm announced Friday. Cole assumed Burnstein’s old position.
Along with Burnstein and Cole, the firm’s management team includes co-founder and former managing director Joseph Serota, Miami-Dade office managing director Mitchell Bierman and Palm Beach office managing director Brett Schneider.
Burnstein, a real estate litigator, has been with the firm since 1999 and created its eminent domain practice in 2001.
“Over the years, we have assembled a remarkable and talented group of professionals since the firm first opened its doors more than 26 years ago, with more attorneys than at any time in our history,” he said. “I am eager to have a hand in shaping the firm’s continued growth.”
Cole said Burnstein “has been involved in firm management for many years, so he understands the complexities of working with 70 attorneys and professional staff in three office locations.”
