Longtime Broad and Cassel West Palm Beach managing partner Patricia Lebow is handing off her management role to colleague Clifford Hertz to focus full-time on her legal practice.

Lebow joined the firm in 1976 and was the firm’s administrative partner from 1980 to 1983. In 1983 she founded the firm’s West Palm Beach office and hired Hertz, now a veteran real estate and land use attorney. They have practiced together for more than 33 years.

“I am very excited about the next step in my career where I can focus exclusively on serving my clients and practicing law full time without any administrative or management responsibilities,” said Lebow, whose practice focuses on estates and trusts and litigation. “I’m fortunate to be able to turn over the reins to my longtime partner Clifford.”

Hertz is co-chair of the firm’s land use and environmental law department and a member of its real estate and government relations practice groups. Hertz has anchored the West Palm Beach office alongside Lebow for decades, and has been at the forefront of significant real estate and land use and governmental matters in Palm Beach County and across the state.

Lebow’s practice has included being outside general counsel in risk management, family business succession planning, strategizing and litigating issues involving tortious interference with business relationships and noncompetition clauses, contractual disputes, real estate title issues, foreclosure priorities, fraudulent conveyances, trust and estate litigation, construction litigation, personal injury litigation, and labor and employment matters.

Earlier this year the Daily Business Review awarded Lebow a 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors those individuals who have had a notable career and have made a significant impact on the practice of law in Florida. She was honored for having founded the West Palm Beach office, her achievements as a lawyer and founding a charity, Kids’ Dreams Inc., which assists economically underserved children in Palm Beach County with academic, athletic and cultural pursuits in conjunction with mentoring from law enforcement.
