The Daily Business Review 100 is the definitive ranking of lawyer head counts at law firms and offices in Florida. Published each June through the efforts of Law.com Compass and the DBR editorial team, this ranking captures the growth in this highly active market, both overall and on a firm-by-firm basis.
While in 2021, Florida law firms paused their growth slightly as talent wars made hiring tricky, that seems to have changed last year as Big Law players began showing up to Miami in droves, with their presence driving headcount expansion rates back up to normal levels. The average growth of Florida's biggest firms came in at 3.8% in 2022, far outpacing 2021’s rate of 1% average growth. Meanwhile, Florida’s three homegrown Am Law 100 firms managed to grow their Florida attorney counts by an average of just under 4% collectively. Meanwhile, other Big Law firms that were already in the state beefed up.
