Federal prosecutors announced tax evasion and conspiracy charges Tuesday against a San Ramon lawyer who worked with a disgraced private investigator, and who is now locked in a privilege dispute before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mary Nolan was arrested at her home in Oakland on charges she willfully failed to pay nearly $600,000 in taxes, the U.S. attorney’s office announced.
