A jury found a Broward doctor liable for $2.4 million in damages for failing to properly treat a patient with an autoimmune disorder.

Retired 72-year-old Margate police officer Jerry Pettigrossi died in March 2012 after three days at Northwest Medical Center. He had arrived there March 21 with complaints of weakness and rubbery legs.
