If one-time Miami Beach developer Claudio Osorio is going to plead guilty to federal fraud charges, it’s going to have to wait.

A change of plea conference set for Friday was canceled after U.S. District Judge Cecilia Altonaga in Miami recused herself.

As is usual in cases of federal judicial recusals, no reason was given in today’s order.

The case has been reassigned to U.S. District Judge William Dimitrouleas in Fort Lauderdale for further proceedings.

Osorio was indicted in December for actions as the CEO of InnoVida Holdings LLC. The Securities and Exchange Commission also filed an action seeking civil sanctions.

The indictment alleges at least 10 investors were victimized by InnoVida, a construction supplier, in an estimated $50 million fraud.

The Venezuelan native also is accused of fleecing the U.S. government out of $10 million on loans that Osorio said would go to rebuild Haiti after its devastating earthquake.
